Day 53: Kamarouska

Today we did some exploring of some of the little towns we rode through on our way to Riviere du Loup.

And we fell in love with the little town of Kamarouska!!

Very friendly people!

Check out the pictures, and you'll see why.

We met Christian and his partner, and fell in love with their little grocery store. A very friendly town.

Thanks folks!

Neat looking fences

The homes, and the hotels, were awesome and stylish!

We loved the roads and streets in Kamarouska!

This is Marcel, he is a wood carver.

This waterfall on the side of Hwy 132 took our breath away!

Day 52: Quebec City to Riviere du Loup

Yup, a whole 191 kms!

We had a beautiful ride today on one of the most beautiful stretches in all of Canada!

It was pouring rain all around us, but as miracles do happen, we we started there was a break in the clouds and a patch of clear sky that stayed with us all the way to our destination!  Didn't rain on us once in 9 hours!

We did some morning yoga stretches today, as taught to me by Lisa Kennedy.

Not really sure what Mark is doing though!

Then we had the ride of our lives. Thank you weather for cooperating today!!

A big thanks goes out once again to Bow Cycle and NRG for setting us up with right equipment to get the job done!
Only one flat each over 5200 kms, and absolutely no problems with gears or chains or drivetrains.

AMAZING!

Lunch break for the bikes. And for us.

A day in Old Quebec City!

Day 50: Montreal to Quebec City

Today we tackled 'the whole enchilada' and rode from Montreal to Quebec City - 224 kms.

These amazing old Churches are everywhere in Quebec!

A very long, but awesome day!

One of the highlights was meeting a group of girl scouts doing a five day bike hike. We met them at a local poutine stand!
When we told them we had ridden 5,148 km's so far, they about fell off their bikes!

We raced all day to beat a huge huge storm that was following us, and we out ran it!

Tomorrow we will take a rest day and tour Old Quebec City.

Looking forwards to it!

Day 49: Hawksbery to Montreal

Today we rode 75 km's to MONTREAL!!
How fun was that?!

Before we arrived, we met 62 year old Gerald and his lovely wife Manon, who were out for their weekend cycle trip. So we cycled to the next town with them, and had a great visit.

We also met some bikers from Ottawa who were out for a weekend ride.

This weekend is the celebration weekend called "Saint Jean Baptiste" so the Quebec flags were out, and people were definitely in the party mode!

We rode through 'Old Montreal', ate at a French restaurant and met some very fun people!

We met a young woman getting married, and when I donated to her cause, I got a free sucker and some high fives.

All in all a great day!

We can't believe we are in Montreal!!
